Connecticut – Remnants of Hurricane Ida (DR-4629)
Hurricane Ida struck Connecticut from September 1 to September 2, 2021. On October 30, 2021, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Connecticut and ordered Federal assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
People in the following counties and tribal nations are eligible to receive federal disaster assistance:
*New Haven County was added December 1st, 2021.

Low-income survivors facing legal issues may call 1 (860) 612-2038 between the hours of 9am to 5pm ET, Monday-Friday. Survivors who qualify for legal assistance will be matched with volunteer attorneys.
FEMA Application Deadline
Extended to Friday, January 28, 2022

Within 60 days of the date on the determination letter.
Apply for SNAP Replacement
No application was necessary. The State of Connecticut automatically sent $95 in additional benefits to all enrolled families on or around Saturday, September 18, 2021.
Apply for Disaster Unemployment
Extended to Monday, January 10, 2022, for all counties.

Disaster Recovery Center: To find a Disaster Recovery Center near you, use the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s DRC locator or text “DRC” and your zip code to 43362 (4FEMA) to locate a Disaster Recovery Center in your area.

A disaster legal help hotline is now available for survivors in Connecticut affected by Hurricane Ida on September 1 & 2, 2021, the Connecticut Bar Association, in partnership with the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Services Team and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is providing free disaster legal assistance to individuals that were affected in the following counties and tribal nations: Fairfield County, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the Mohegan Tribal Nation, New Haven County, and New London County
